Summary: Keep tooltip help from popping up in Microsoft Excel 2003.
Normally, Microsoft Excel 2003 displays help in the form of popup tooltips whenever your mouse pointer hovers over toolbar buttons. These are great if you are a beginning or intermediate Excel 2003 user; you do not have to press F1 or search the help file to find out the function a particular button performs - it is shown for you. However, others may find these popup boxes annoying and want to disable them. To do so:
1. Click "Tools" - "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "General" tab.
3. Uncheck "Function tooltips" under "Settings".
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
