To help increase your computer security, as well as give you the chance to see if new features are available, it's best to keep your Microsoft Office applications, such as Microsoft Office Excel 2003, updated with patches. To check and see if any updates are available for your product, just select "Help" - "Check for Updates".
Your web browser will appear, pointed to Office Update at http://office.microsoft.com. From here, just click "Check for Updates" underneath "Office Updates" to see what is available.
Note that if Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari, Netscape, or another non-Internet Explorer browser appears, you will need to copy the URL and open Office Update manually from within Internet Explorer to perform updates.
Also note that if you are using Microsoft Update instead of Windows Update, depending on your security settings, your computer may be downloading and installing Office updates automatically.
Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Microsoft Excel 2003 Security and Privacy - Check for Updates Online.
