Microsoft Excel 2003 Misc - Add Watches to View Results in Other Spreadsheet Sections

If you have ever worked on a large multi-page spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2003 with many formulas and summations, you may relate to the following:

1. You change a number in one cell.
2. The cell is part of a formula with the result in a cell two screens away.
3. You scroll through the document, finding the results.
4. You need to change another value related to the formula.
5. You scroll back and change the value.
6. Now, you need to see the result, so you must scroll back
etc.

There's an easier way. Set up a "Watch Window" so that no matter where you are located in a document, you can quickly see the results of a formula several screens away.

1. Find each formula you want to watch while working on a document.
2. Right-click on each cell and choose "Add Watch".

Now, while you work on the document, the new "Watch Window" will reflect any changes to the results of the watched formulas.

To remove results from the watch window, right-click on a watched cell and choose "Delete Watch". Or, just click on a watched cell in the "Watch Window" and then click "Delete Watch".

To toggle the watch window on or off, select "View" - "Toolbars" - "Watch Window".
