Microsoft Excel 2003 Functions and Formulas - Get the Square Root of a Number

To return the positive square root of a number, cell, or calculation in a Microsoft Excel 2003 spreadsheet you can use the =SQRT function. Note that if the original number is negative, the result of the value will be "#NUM!".

Examples:

=SQRT(25)

5

=SQRT(900)

30
