Summary: Toggle displaying warnings when overwriting cells using cell drag-and-drop in Excel 2003.
If you often use Microsoft Excel 2003's cell drag-and-drop feature, depending on your configuration, when you attempt to overwrite previously-existing cells Excel displays a warning.
If this warning fails to display causing you to accidentally overwrite cells, or if you frequently use this feature and tire of the warning, it can be toggled on or off.
1. Click "Tools" - "Options".
2. When the "Options" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Edit" tab.
3. Underneath "Allow cell drag and drop", check or uncheck "Alert before overwriting cells" as desired.
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
